The academic master's degree program in Electrical Engineering focuses on the fields of energy and power and intelligent equipment. Relying on the disciplinary advantages of "Petroleum and Natural Gas Engineering" of the university, it has formed three characteristic directions: "Power Electronics and Electric Drive", "Electrical Engineering Theory and New Technologies", and "Information Technology in Electrical Engineering".
Features and Advantages: Relying on the complete industrial systems of oil and gas, electricity, and new energy vehicles in Central China, it gives full play to the advantages of traditional disciplines such as petroleum and electricity at Yangtze University. Currently, this discipline has an undergraduate major in Electrical Engineering and Automation, as well as multiple professional laboratories such as electrical control and microgrid integration. It has distinct characteristics and advantages in multiple fields such as intelligent control of oil and gas equipment and shale gas electrical control drive.
This discipline adheres to the concept of "Five Ideological and Political Educations, All-round Education of Three Aspects". It has a strong faculty, with 15 master's supervisors, including 3 professors and 8 associate professors. Many of them have been selected into the "Chutian Scholars" program in Hubei Province and the "Elite Talents" project of the university. In the past five years, it has undertaken more than 10 vertical research projects such as the National Natural Science Foundation of China and the Key Research and Development Plan of Hubei Province, and more than 50 horizontal projects in joint research with enterprises. The scientific research funds exceed 20 million yuan, and multiple technical breakthroughs have been achieved in fields such as the optimized dispatching of smart grids and the grid connection control of new energy sources.
